Interview Schedules

Different schedules were used  for  different waves.  For more recent waves (waves  3,  4, and 5) a standardized schedule was used for all cohorts but at waves 1 and 2 there was usually a different schedule for each cohort.  Also, at each wave there were various schedules e.g. main and self-completes and in some cases different schedules were used for region and localities samples.  The naming convention of the schedules indicates the following: the wave (W1 to W5), the cohort (30s, 50s, or 70s), the sample (R represents region, L represents locality), and a description e.g. nurse, diet etc.  For the 1970s cohort there were two between-wave postal surveys and they are labelled W1.5 and W2.5 and listed with the preceding wave.
